Donate Kitchenware In Philadelphia

Your unused kitchenware can be of great use to the needy.

If you've recently upgraded your appliances or have unused kitchenware that is in good working condition, don't just throw them out. Instead, consider a donation to others in need. Many charity organizations in Philadelphia work to provide amenities to the homeless and needy and welcome these types of items. A few charities will even arrange to pick up your items within a particular radius.

Instructions

1. Segregate the kitchenware lying unused in your kitchen cabinets. Check appliances that you wish to donate by plugging them in and running them for a few minutes to make sure that they work. Locate all accessories for appliances like blenders and have them ready to pack with the appliance. Clean external and internal surfaces of appliances and pack them using bubble wrap. Place the appliance along with the accessories into a carton box and tape securely.

2. Clean kitchen utensils and dry them out before packing into boxes. If there are sharp objects, place them in a separate box and label appropriately for safe handling.

3. Call Impact Services at (215) 423-3613. This is a registered nonprofit organization in Philadelphia that works to serve the needy. The items you donate will be sold at very low rates to those in need. Speak to the staff and make a date for them to pick up your kitchenware.

4. Get in touch with the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission, a charity that has served the homeless in Philadelphia for more than 130 years. The two offices are located in Center City and in the Germantown neighborhood. Visit these locations to find out about donating your kitchenware and make arrangements for pick up or delivery.

5. Browse the website of DonationTown, an organization that will help you locate a Philadelphia charity that will accept your kitchenware donation. This organization works in collaboration with various groups such as the Salvation Army, Goodwill, Good Samaritan Ministries and Habitat for Humanity.
