Apply Face Paint With Stencils

Face painting with a stencil and be done quickly and easily.

Applying face paint with stencils is a quick and basic process. It is a brilliant alternative to free-handed face painting if you are an inexperience face painter or if you have to expedite the face-painting process. There are a few methods that you can choose to apply face paint onto a stencil. As long as you dispense of the paint properly, and hold the stencil still, you'll be able to produce a face painted stencil beautifully and quickly every time.

Instructions

Sponge Method

1. Load a sponge by dipping the edge of the sponge in water and rotating the sponge in a water-based face paint color of your choice. Place the stencil on the face on which you painting.

2. Hold the stencil flat and still against the face as you dab the sponge over top of the stencil. Cover the whole stencil with the paint from the sponge.

3. Sprinkle loose sparkles over the stencil while the paint is still wet. Lift the stencil without sliding it on the face.

Brush Method

4. Load a wide brush by dipping the brush in water and rotating the brush in a face paint color of your choice. Place the stencil on the face on which you painting.

5. Hold the stencil flat and still against the face as you paint the area of the stencil. Load your brush with other colors and paint other specific areas of the stencil if you wish. Make sure you hold the stencil still as you load the brush and paint different areas of the stencil with different colors.

6. Sprinkle loose sparkles over the stencil or paint on gel sparkles. Lift the stencil without sliding it on the face.

Air Brush Method

7. Hook up your air compressor and airbrush. (Airbrushes are assembled differently according to the make and model.) Load it with appropriate water-based face paint. Wear gloves and a cloth face mask. Ask the subject you are painting to close his or her eyes and mouth. Hold the stencil up to the face you are painting. Keep the stencil still and pressed against the face.

8. Hold the airbrush up to the stencil. Spray face paint over the stencil. Pass the airbrush over the stencil twice.

9. Sprinkle loose sparkles over the stencil or paint on gel sparkles. Lift the stencil without sliding it on the face.
