Prince & Princess Birthday Party Ideas

Invitations

Make the invitations as formal as possible, using thick paper, fancy writing and bright colors. Have the invitation read like a formal invite from the king. Let the guests know that they have been invited, formally, by the king to attend your prince or princess' birthday party. Don't forget to include the date, time and location of the party. On the invitation, be sure to state if you want the children to dress up for the party or if you'll be providing them with royal attire once they arrive at the party.

Crafts

There are plenty of activities for prince and princess parties that can work for both boys and girls. Sit all of the children down to make crowns. Provide plastic jewels, paints, glitter and any other supplies you can think of. Have the girls make tiaras while the boys make traditional crowns. Don't be surprised if some girls want to make crowns and some boys want to make tiaras, have enough supplies to accommodate for whatever the children want to make. Have the children decorate magic wands and plastic swords; let the children pick which one they want to make.

Games

Play a game of "Find the King's Treasure." Hide gold coins (these can either be chocolate or plastic) around the party area and explain to the children that someone came in and stole all of the king's gold. Send them on a mission to find as many gold coins as they can. Whoever finds the most gets a special prize from the king or queen (the mother or father of the guest of honor.) Change classic party games like Simon Says and Pin the Tail on the Donkey to work for the prince or princess theme, playing Princess Says or Pin the Crown on the Prince.
