Get Donations For Your Missions Trip

Both my wife and I are in the medical/nursing field. And we feel that our skills can be of great use not only here in the states, but also abroad where healthcare isn't so easily obtained. We are traveling with a team of doctors, nurses, dental hygienists, translators, and pastors. Money is not everything, but it is a huge part of what makes a medical missions trip work. Here's eget donations for your trip!

Instructions

1. First, make a list of the things you need. Money is a big one, but it isn't everything. Depending on your mission trip's purpose will determine what your needs are.

2. Donations are enticing to the public when they are tax deductible. Check with your team members and team leader if your organization is authorized to take tax deductible donations. If so, with your organization's permission you can use their name to market and pull donations.

3. Advertise your mission trip on your blog, or website. The traffic you have already established to your webspace can easily be tapped for possible donations and advertisement of your mission trip.

4. Email, a wonderful digital tool. Don't spam your entire contact list. Send a quick and tasteful email to those that you think might appreciate what you are doing on your mission trip. Don't drag the email along as it might turn off the potential help. State your greeting, agenda, need, info, and thanks. The important parts are surprisingly the first and last of that list. No one wants to help after seeing a rude or obnoxious plug.

5. Make donations easy. Offer different methods of donating. With money, allow them to send checks or money orders. Paypal allows you to accept money digitally to your email address, linked to your bank account. With paypal you can create an html button for your blog or website. This button when clicked will take the visitor directly to a paypal site with your mission trip donation info prefilled. You can select whether a standard monetary donation can be sent, or allow them to send any amount. Paypal also provides links that can be sent via email or on venues that don't allow html. Such as the following:
