Well, let's just say that I hold a high position in a not-so-legal organization," Tommy explains at the beginning of "Mafia." The game takes place in a 1930s-era fictional city where crime is rampant and powerful criminal families vie for control. You control Tommy from his roots as a poor taxi driver as he gets pulled deeper and deeper into the world of organized crime. In mission 4, Tommy is sent on a routine collection of protection money.
Instructions
1. Complete the first half of the mission. You will simply drive your friends around as they make the collections. On the last stop outside town, they will encounter trouble.
2. Go around to the back door. Avoid the dog if possible to conserve your ammunition, but kill it if you must.
3. Climb up the boxes stacked against the wall. You will eventually reach a second-floor balcony with an unlocked door. Go inside.
4. Sneak and enter the room almost directly across from the one you arrived in. Inside you will find a Thompson submachine gun lying on the bed.
5. Return to the hall and take a left while remaining crouched. When you come to a door at the end of the hall, draw a pistol and open the door. Kill the gangster inside, and take his gun.
6. Spin around to face the stairway. Three gangsters will be running to investigate the noise. Use a pistol to take them down; they should fall easily in the confined space of the hallway.
7. Head downstairs until you come to the bar. Take out the gangsters in the room while remaining in the doorway as much as you can. The gangster behind the bar has a Tommy gun, so avoid exposing yourself to his fire. Come out from cover when he's reloading, and take him out. Collect the ammunition on your way by.
8. Enter the back room, killing the cook who attacks you from the left. On your way back out with Sam, you will be attacked again at close range. Use the Tommy gun to make short work of your assailant.
9. Chase the fleeing mobster in your car. He is in a heavier and faster car, so it will be very difficult to push him off the road. You can follow closely and try to nudge him into guard rails around corners, chase him and hope for a crash or take shots at him from your window. You can also attempt to pass him, get a ways ahead and then leap out, using your Tommy gun to try to kill him as he approaches. Keep your speed up and avoid colliding with obstacles in order to stay close and keep your options as open as possible. Once you've killed the driver, mission 4 is complete.
