Las Vegas is not just a playground for the rich.
In Las Vegas, women trying to improve their circumstances need decent, interview-worthy clothing for job interviews and employment. There are plenty of organizations in Las Vegas that help to distribute used clothing to women at little to no cost. If you go through your closet, chances are you will find several pieces of good, used clothing that could be given to one of these organizations. Shoes and personal items are also needed to help those who have been less fortunate.
Instructions
1. Give your excess clothing to The Safe Nest, a domestic violence shelter that helps women break away from the cycle of violence in their lives. The Safe Nest has a wish list on its website that lists most-needed items.
2. Donate clothing, furniture and household goods to Family Promise of Las Vegas. Family Promise is a nationwide organization that helps homeless families to become self-sufficient. Family Promise works with clients to aid them in finding employment and a place to live while sheltering clients and their families within partner churches during their time in the program.
3. Donate clothing and shoes to Goodwill of Southern Nevada. Goodwill of Southern Nevada has programs to help people learn interview and employment skills; in addition, it has clothing events that are open to those in need of interview and employment-worthy clothing.
4. Contact Dress for Success of Southern Nevada. Dress for Success of Southern Nevada is not yet open for business as of October 2010, but is in the process of beginning its program.
