Criminal Investigator Games

Close the case with an online criminal investigator game.

If you dream of being a sleuth like Nancy Drew or exchanging your menial job for one as a detective from your favorite TV drama, fuel your fantasies by playing free, online criminal investigator games. Piece together clues, interview witnesses, examine evidence and solve crimes from the comfort of your own home.

The First 48: Investigation Game

Fans of A&E's series "The First 48" can put their criminal investigation skills to the test with the network's The First 48: Investigation free online game at A&E TV. Players act as detectives to solve one of four homicide cases within the first 48 hours after the crime occurs. The game's cases involve the murder of a female tenant of a lavish condominium, a male victim found stabbed in a warehouse, a woman shot in front of a home on a snowy night and the gruesome deaths of women believed to be the victims of a serial killer.

CSI: Web Adventures

For a criminal investigator game with an educational twist, visit the website of Rice University in Houston, Texas. With grant support from the National Science Foundation and partnerships with companies and organizations including CBS Broadcasting, Inc., Rice University's CSI: Web Adventures online game was born. This free game allows players to receive virtual training from "CSI" characters, and tour labs and view clips from the show while learning the ins and outs of forensics investigation. In addition to training, CSI: Web Adventures features two additional cases for players to solve under intermediate and advanced play, according to Rice University's forensics webpage.

Life of a Crime

If you are a gamer who would rather test your trivia knowledge of the procedural matters of a criminal investigation rather than piecing together clues to track down a virtual serial killer, Investigation Discovery has the game for you. Life of a Crime challenges players to four speed rounds of questions pertaining to the rules of a proper criminal investigation. If you can quickly answer whether criminal investigators carry a firearm or not or at what time investigators interview witnesses then you will earn points and rank among the game's top investigators. According to the game instructions on Discovery's website, new questions are asked each time Life of a Crime is played.

Clue Secrets & Spies

Hasbro, the maker of Clue---grandfather of criminal investigator games---provides a free, online version of Clue Secrets & Spies on its website. Players will recognize Clue's familiar character names of Scarlet, Plum, Peacock, etc., but for this modern twist the characters have been revamped as secret agents. Choose your agent, then race around the globe as you complete missions, collect weapons and files, and try to capture the mysterious Agent Black.
