Cabin living appeals to those who desire a relaxing environment.
The Amish lifestyle has its appealing attributes, as it is slower, less stressful and more peaceful than city life. In West Virginia, you can get a taste of the Amish experience by staying in an Amish cabin. There are a few vacation spots that specifically offer Amish cabins for lodging, but other cabin rental services can also provide an Amish cabin experience.
Cantrell's Amish Cabins
If you choose to vacation with Cantrell's Ultimate Rafting, you have the option of lodging within either the standard or deluxe Amish cabin. The deluxe cabin sleeps seven, with a loft sleeping five in twin and full beds. Linens, pillows and towels are not provided, and there is no phone or television available. The cabin does have air conditioning and comes furnished. As of 2010, the price for this cabin was $120 per night.
The basic Amish cabin sleeps up to eight people. Each cabin sleeps six on the main floor with a loft for two. These cabins are equipped with electricity, but there is no running water or air conditioning. There are bath facilities available within a short walk from the cabin. Again, linens, pillows or towels are not provided. Both cabins are pet friendly for an additional fee. As of 2010, these cabins cost $15 per person.
