The Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) is collectively the largest nonprofit community service organization in the nation. The YMCA was founded in England in 1844 and was introduced to the United States in 1851. Today, the organization serves 18.3 million children, both youth and adults. The YMCA of the Triangle includes 15 branches and facilities in the Raleigh area with eight program types, including after school programs. They are available to preschool, elementary, and middle school students. The preschool program offers Spanish lessons, gymnastics, swimming, music, and creative play activities. Middle school programs offer activities like homework assistance, arts and crafts, singing, and sports. Elementary school student programs emphasize academics, physical activity, and character development with activities on the playground, in the gym, and in the classroom. For students within grades kindergarten through eight, the YMCA of the Triangle features the Tracking Out Youth Program, incorporating a camp-like atmosphere and activities such as ice skating, canoeing, rock climbing, and archery. It is available to students who attend year-round or modified year-round schools.

Academy of Martial Arts
The Academy of Martial Arts (AMA) in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a tae kwon do studio certified by the International Tae Kwon Do Federation. In addition to offering martial arts lessons, the studio provides a summer camp and before and after school programs that are classified as State Certified After School Program, instructed by four teachers.
