Instructions To Turn A Bassett Crib Into A Toddler Bed

One of the many delights of becoming parents is preparing and accessorizing a special place for the precious little one. Parents spend time selecting the best of what they can afford, with the crib being at the top of the list. Bassett's 4 in 1 Cribs are a one-time investment that provides bedding arrangements through every stage of your child's development. Does this Spark an idea?

Removing the Front Panel

The simple design of the Bassett crib makes it very easy to remove the crib's front panel. Unlike other crib designs, the Bassett cribs are outfitted with a stationary front panel (it does not slide up and down). The front panel is attached with screws to the front legs of the two side panels. Remove the mattress and bedding and then unscrew the front panel from the unit. Store it for future use, either to turn the toddler bed back into a crib or to use it as the footboard for the full-size bed orientation.

With Bed Rails

When your toddler first begins to sleep on her new toddler bed she may still be used to roll over and into the crib wall. For this reason Bassett 4-in-1 crib comes with the toddler bed rail accessory. The bed rail has three parts: a support bar and two rail sections. These bed rails are an exact coordinate to the rest of the bed, blending seamlessly into its design.

For the first phase of using a toddler bed, use both rail sections, each of which screws into the front legs of the crib and into the support bar underneath. When in place, your toddler enters the bed through the opening in between these two bed rails. It is a fashionable and functional bed railing design.

As your toddler gains more confidence with her new toddler bed, you may choose to remove one of the bed rail sections, leaving the other one in place. This will open up the bed and provide the child with space as she gains more confidence sleeping in her own bed.

Without Bed Rails

Eventually your toddler will be able to sleep without any railings as the other three sides of the bed will provide enough security while sleeping. When he is ready to step up to sleeping without any railings, simply unscrew the bed railing panel from the other front leg of the bed. Not to worry, you can always spread mats on the floor in front of the toddler bed in case your toddler rolls over too much.
