Compare Zeroturn Mowers By Craftsman

Zero-turn mowers are a type of riding lawnmower manufactured by a number of different companies, including Craftsman. The zero-turn designation indicates that it's a mower that can move in a 360 degree circle from the stopped position, allowing you to more accurately mow your lawn no matter what shape it is. Even if you're looking at different models of zero-turn mowers from Craftsman, all mowers won't have identical characteristics. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Find out exactly what a zero-turn mower can and cannot do. Some zero-turn mowers from Craftsman are designed specifically for regular use in your yard. Others may be equipped to handle rougher terrain like a yard that hasn't been kept up in quite awhile. Plan for your needs accordingly before purchasing a zero-turn mower.

2. Look at the type of tires that are used on the zero-turn mowers. Some models of Craftsman zero-turn mowers have tires that are specifically designed to be "turf friendly." This allows them to move across your yard while doing as little damage as possible to the grass and dirt. Some of the Craftsman zero-turn mowers may have regular tires, which are not as gentle your yard.

3. Compare the size of the gas tank on your Craftsman zero-turn mower. The available models of mowers by Craftsman come with either a 4-gallon tank or a 8.5-gallon tank. Consider the size of your yard and how often you would like to be able to mow without needing to stop and refuel your mower.

4. Look at the weight of your Craftsman zero-turn mower. The three available models (as of February 2011) of mowers from Craftsman have three different weights. One is 1,004 lbs., another is 815 lbs., and the final is 775 lbs. The additional weight of a heavier unit may make the mower more difficult to transport, but that may not matter as much if you're using your mower on your own property and nowhere else.
