In "Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2" from author Tom Clancy, you take control of the so-named elite unit of the U.S. military, heading to the border to ward off a civil war between loyalists and rebel forces -- and an attack on U.S. soil. This 2007 title requires tactical skills, which you can improve upon by using some specific tips and strategies.
Using the Tactical Map
In most levels of "GRAW 2" you can take different paths through the landscape to flank your enemies. If you keep failing a mission, you should carefully study the tactical map to find a better route to your goal. Use the map to send your team to specific locations and wait for future orders.
Choosing Your Squad
Match up the members and skill sets of your team with the map on which you are about to play. If you are about to undertake a mission on a wide-open level, pick a marksman for his long-range shooting ability. The marksman will also have increased accuracy when laying down. In more enclosed levels your guys are going to take more damage, so have a medic on hand. If you will be riding in vehicles, use a grenadier so you will have access to rocket-propelled grenades, which are easier to fire from vehicles. Grenadiers also get more grenades and faster reload times for the RPG than other squadron mates.
Use Caution
Enemies show up as red diamonds on the map once they've been spotted; but when you enter an explored area, there could be a foe around the corner. Always scan an area if possible -- preferably with a UAV drone if one is available -- before barging into it. Enter rooms cautiously or toss in tactical grenades to stun enemies before your team heads inside.
FAMAS Cheat
You can get easy access to the FAMAS, one of the better assault rifles in the game, by entering a cheat. After you start a new campaign, enter the name "GRAW2QUICKFAMAS" when promoted. Now when you play a "Quick Mission," the FAMAS will be part of your artillery. This semi-automatic gun shoots in bursts, features a 3x scope and includes a grenade launcher attachment.
