There are very few families that don't have need for a home office, and all too often the home office gets relegated to the master bedroom just because that's the only place it will fit. A home office in the bedroom doesn't have to be intrusive if you can look outside the box. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Move all of the home office furniture and accessories out of the bedroom.
2. Sort through all of your accessories, grouping like things together (i.e., pens with pens, paper with paper and so on). Once all of the accessories are sorted, decide how many containers you need and in what shapes. Pens, paperclips and small notepads don't have to be stored on the desktop. Consider putting them in a drawer separated by dividers cut from card stock or old boxes taped in place. You also can purchase a canvas tool holder from your local hardware store and staple it to the end of your desk to hold things like sticky notes, small notepads and business cards.
3. Choose a desk that fits your needs. If all you need is a small computer desk you can usually get one for under $50. When choosing a desk, keep in mind the amount of space you have in your bedroom. Corner desks, while they may be a bit more expensive, will help to maximize the amount of space needed and give you a place to hide unsightly cords.
4. Load the room beginning with the large pieces. Connect all the computer wires and make sure the computer works before taking another step.
5. Bring in the accessories. Remember to keep them neat and organized and labeled. You don't need to have expensive boxes or trays; simple things such as baggies and cut-up boxes can serve your needs.
