When you meet Keely in Vault 22 in "Fallout: New Vegas" after being tasked to rescue her, she asks you to assist in destroying the plants that have overtaken the vault by igniting fuel vapors in the lower levels of the vault. While the ignition of the vapors is not difficult, it can be hard to ignite them without being killed in the resulting explosion that flows throughout the corridors of the vault.
Instructions
1. Go to the computer room as instructed by Keely after she gives you the mission to ignite the fuel vapors.
2. Locate the door controls on the inside of the computer room. Practice activating the door a few times to get comfortable with the procedure.
3. Navigate to the computer terminal, activate it and then release the fuel vapors.
4. Position your character next to the door panel so you are facing into the hallway so you can see the fumes from the fuel vapors.
5. Fire a laser-based weapon into the hallway. Alternatively, if you have a grenade, throw it down the hallway. Immediately after firing a weapon or throwing a grenade, activate the door controls to close the door to the computer room. If the door is closed, the fire blast will not harm you.
